Stay Safe in the Snow
LandTech wants our friends and family to enjoy the snow – but stay safe if the oncoming storm brings us blizzard conditions – might be useful to check on the following NOAA tips for around the house (and in your car)
– Flashlight and extra batteries
– Battery-powered radio for NOAA Weather and to receive emergency information
– Extra food and water such as dried fruit, nuts and granola bars, and other food requiring no cooking or refrigeration
– Extra prescription medicine
– Baby items such as diapers and formula
– First-aid supplies
– Fuel for house and automobile
– Emergency heat sources (fireplace, wood stove, properly ventilated space heaters)
– Fire extinguisher and smoke alarms, properly tested
– Extra pet food and warm shelter
– Contact numbers for neighbors or other shelter
– Backup up power sources for mobile phones
– Generator fuel and safety (never run in an enclosed space)
Stay warm but remember that home fires are common in winter storms!
And who knows, maybe this one will miss us too!
