Spring Peepers
They’re BAAA-AAAAACK…. LandTech’s friends are telling us they’re hearing a song we’ve waited through a long, seemingly interminable winter to hear: spring peepers!
Spring peepers are tiny but make a remarkable racket that never ceases to amaze us. LandTech’s Tom Ryder explains: “They breed in vernal pools and they’re quite little – always beneficial for hiding from predators, not so great for being found by mates. They need to be able to call the females to their pools over long distances.”
That explains some human behavior we’re starting to notice this spring as well.
