Rain garden done right

The beauty of the rain garden goes well below the surface. It is the plants within the rain garden that get all the attention, but it is what lies beneath the plants where the real benefits of the garden are realized. The foundation of the garden is composed of layers or strata’s of soil mixtures that does the filtering of any of the pollutants contained in the runoff that is collected in the rain garden as it infiltrates into the floor of the garden. Besides its aesthetics and filtration benefits it is in most case more economical than burying concrete or plastic stormwater galleries. It is a win/win for everyone.
