Lanphier Center at Choate Rosemary Hall

Wallingford, Connecticut

Designed by renowned architects Pelli Clarke Pelli, the 35,000-square foot Lanphier Center for Mathematics and Computer Science at Choate Rosemary Hall has been awarded an AIA Connecticut Design Honor Award for 2017.

The project was conceived as two individual wings of classrooms connected by a glass corridor that looks out on beautiful landscaping. The structure is also designed to connect to the nearby Icahn Center by means of a footbridge through the trees.

The center completed construction and opened to students in 2015 and is designed to meet or exceed qualifications for a LEED-Gold certification for environmentally sound construction and maintenance.

For this extraordinary project, LANDTECH provided careful site planning for the environmentally sensitive location, including civil engineering, environmental engineering, wetlands and environmental science and managing the permitting and approvals process.
