Planning to Save a Tree
LANDTECH is providing civil and environmental engineering for Choate Rosemary Hall on the renovation of several parts of their Wallingford CT campus, including the new Lanphier Center for Mathematics and Computer Science, still under construction. It was especially rewarding on this project to be able to employ sensitive environmental planning to save this magnificent beech tree. The silver beech is nestled directly adjacent to a glass corridor connecting two wings of the Center (designed by renowned architects Pelli Clarke Pelli). As buds emerge into leaves this spring, this beautiful tree will take its rightful place as a key element in the design of the Center’s environs. The facility is aiming for a LEED-Gold certification for environmentally sound construction and maintenance.
