Pete Romano Day

On a perfect Saturday summer afternoon, LandTech friends and family gathered today to celebrate the Town of Westport’s announcement of August 8th as “Pete Romano Day.” First Selectman Jim Marpe read a proclamation describing Pete’s longstanding contributions to the community. He added a personal note afterward about Pete having been his daughter’s first softball coach. Pete’s mom took a bow and got a round of applause, and birthday cake and ice cream were enjoyed by all. The celebration continues into the evening with live music, part of Saugatuck Sweet’s “Sweet Summer Sounds” in nearby Luciano Park. At this pace, the partying may continue through to Pete’s 61st birthday.
