Peter T. Romano

Principal

Peter Romano has over 30 years of experience in civil engineering, site planning, permit coordination, project team management and construction administration. He has overseen public projects for state and local municipalities and provided consultation, engineering and planning to private development firms for residential, commercial and retail projects throughout Connecticut.

Pete provides similar services to builders, contractors and homeowners, from project inception through, design permitting, construction and certifications. Recent projects include the Saugatuck Center in Westport, which includes retail, residential, office space and a marina, Westport's Shake Shack restaurant, and a new baseball field and facilities for Westport's Staples High School.

Pete is a Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Connecticut Society of Civil Engineers, the National Environmental Health Association, and is an Affiliate member of the American Society of Landscape Architects. Prior to running LANDTECH, he was a partner at Bennett Associates Consulting Engineers. Pete began his career at Charles Mackie, Associates as Project Engineer and Construction Inspector and Manager. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Roger Williams University.
Michael J. Bartos, Jr. PE

Michael J. Bartos, Jr. PE

Partner, Director of Engineering

Mike has been with LANDTECH for almost 25 years. He oversees the firm's engineering staff and supervises the design and management of LANDTECH's civil and environmental engineering projects, including wastewater collection and disposal, stormwater management, roads and other infrastructure projects.

Mike was LANDTECH's design engineer for the Fairfield Metro Center, one of Connecticut’s largest transportation projects, the Westport Weston Family Y and the Kohler Environmental Center at Choate Rosemary Hall.

Prior to joining LANDTECH, Mike served with the Army Corps of Engineers and worked for other private consulting firms. He holds a B.S.C.E. from Northeastern University in Boston MA and earned his Master of Science Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
Robert Pryor, PE LS

Robert Pryor, PE LS

Director of Site Planning & Engineering

Rob Pryor has over 25 years of experience in design, permitting and construction oversight. His skills include site development engineering, permitting, storm water and floodplain management and site planning. He has designed, managed and overseen hundreds of commercial, residential and mixed-use land development projects—both private and public—throughout Connecticut and New York.

Rob was project manager for site design of Blue Back Square in West Hartford, a mixed-use complex that incorporated traffic calming and pedestrian-friendly design elements into a network of existing and newly constructed urban roadways. He coordinated the design and permitting for the first monopole-type signalization project in North Carolina at the Piney Green Gate at MCB Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville. He also acted as project manager for numerous Lowe’s Home Improvement stores in Connecticut and New York, coordinating off-site roadway and signalization improvements. Rob's strengths include coordination and efficient management of multidisciplinary design teams to maximize efficiency and economy.

He holds two BS degrees from MIT (Civil Engineering and Planning).
Christoper P. Allan

Christoper P. Allan

Senior Associate, Professional Soil Scientist and Professional Wetland Scientist

Christopher Allan has provided environmental consultation, analysis, and design since joining LANDTECH in 1984. He initiates and oversees tasks such as upland and wetland habitat evaluations, environmental impact assessments, pond, stream and wetland evaluations, wetland creation and restoration projects, wetland delineation, wetland functional assessment, stormwater quality evaluation and treatment design, sedimentation and erosion control planning, land-use evaluations and permitting, and onsite sewage disposal system design.

Chris is a Professional Wetland Scientist, Professional Registered Soil Scientist, Registered Sanitarian in the State of Connecticut, and a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control. He successfully managed the land use permitting process for numerous development projects throughout Connecticut and is an environmental consultant to several municipal land use commissions in Connecticut. Chris holds a Masters of Environmental Studies from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
Thomas Ryder

Thomas Ryder

Senior Associate, Biologist, Wetland Scientist

Tom has been with LANDTECH since 1998, and oversees many of the environmental aspects of the firm's projects, including the Westport Weston Family Y and the Saugatuck Marina. He has over 25 years of experience in conducting and managing natural resource projects. His experience includes wildlife surveys (including threatened, endangered and special concern species) and wetland and aquatic system evaluations (including limnological investigations, fisheries studies, vernal pool assessments and pond dredging management).

Tom is an expert in coastal resource management and permitting, and he works closely with State and Federal Agencies to ensure proper protection of identified natural resources. Tom is past president of the Connecticut Association of Wetland Scientists. He holds a Masters in Biology from the State University of New York College at Buffalo in 1995 and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Michigan State University in 1989.
Andy Soumelidis

Andy Soumelidis

Associate, Civil Engineer

For more than seven years Andy Soumelidis has been providing comprehensive site planning, engineering and design services to state, municipal and federal governments, and to the private sector.

He assists clients from the initial conceptual stages of a project through design development, construction documents and construction oversight. Andy holds a B.S.C.E. from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Maria Attra

Maria Attra

Administrative Assistant

Maria has been with LANDTECH since 2012. She is President and principal owner of Kevcor, LANDTECH's affiliate design/build constructor company, a woman-owned business enterprise specializing in structural engineering and design/build for footing and foundation systems.

Through Kevcor, Maria provides administrative and structural engineering services in support of LANDTECH operations. She holds a B.S. in accounting from Bentley College in Waltham, MA.
Gina Curcio

Gina Curcio

Project Administrator

Gina assists LANDTECH with our business operations, and is a contributing member of our design team.

She provides permit coordination and assists our design professionals and clients through the land-use permitting process on projects ranging from single-family residential dwellings to large scale commercial developments.
Curt Lowenstein

Curt Lowenstein

Assistant Engineer

LANDTECH's newest team member, Curt is assisting with site planning and design services for projects. He spent the past two years providing infrastructure design and construction phase services for state municipalities on water and wastewater system improvements and electric utility upgrade projects.

Curt holds a B.E.C.E from Stevens Institute of Technology.

Director of Marketing

Jeff brings his 30+ years of experience in the communication arts to his role as a marketing consultant and graphic designer for LANDTECH. His company, Seaver Interactive [www.seaver.com] designed and oversees our website, graphic design, collateral, social media, signage, and managing the office's supply of K-cups.

Robert J. Jontos, Jr. PWS, CPESC

Founder (Retired)

Bob Jontos founded LANDTECH. He has been an environmental consultant and educator in Connecticut for more than 35 years. Bob has played an integral part in many environmental initiatives undertaken by state and municipal government, and has acted as Principal in Charge for numerous environmental projects undertaken by LANDTECH.

Bob is a Past President of the Connecticut Association of Wetland Scientists and a member of the Society of Wetland Scientists.
