Positions – Engineering Opportunities

•  Staff Engineer

Candidates must have at least 1-2 years’ experience in site development design including storm and sanitary sewers, grading, utilities, roads, drainage studies, erosion controls, subdivisions, etc.

Working under the supervision of the Project Engineer and Project Manager, responsibilities of the Staff Engineer will include design plan production, ACAD drafting, drainage calculations, utility coordination, construction observation, septic soil testing, researching municipal files, assembling land use applications etc. in support of the project team. Responsibilities will also include interfacing with other design professionals, utility companies, etc.

•  Project Engineer

Candidates must have at least 2-6 years’ experience in civil / site design and land development, including roads, drainage, utility infrastructure, septic systems, sewers, erosion control, grading, etc. working under the supervision and direction of a Project Manager.

The Project Engineer will be responsible for the execution of the technical design, project coordination amongst design team members and municipal officials, utility coordination and quality control during construction observation. The Project Engineer will work with and direct the Staff Engineer on the execution of project design. Responsibilities will include project coordination with a design team, attendance at project meetings, the development of design plans, drainage reports and other technical documentation, and significant interface with other design professionals, municipal land use officials, clients, contractors, etc.

EIT certification is recommended. P.E. License is a plus but is not required, but candidates must be able to obtain each.

•  Project Manager

Candidates must have at least 6 years’ experience in all aspects of civil/site design, land development, municipal and state land-use permitting and project management. Experience should be across a broad range of project types and sizes, including single-family and multi-unit residential, retail/commercial, institutional, healthcare, mixed-use developments, athletic fields, etc. A Connecticut Professional Engineer license is required.

Working with the Project Engineer and Staff Engineer, the Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery including technical work product, quality control, schedule and budget, etc. in order to ensure successful project completion and client satisfaction. Position will include client and team contact, coordination with municipal officials, lead representation on permit processes for given projects, attendance at public hearings to present applications on behalf of the client and team, etc.

Requirements for all positions listed above include a BS-Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering school; experience with AutoCAD as well as other industry standard software (StormCAD, PondPack, SewerCAD, Land Development Desktop, etc.) and experience in site design, land development and land use permitting. 

Positions – Environmental, Landscape Architecture and Site Planning Opportunities

•  Environmental Engineer/ Technician

Candidates must have at least 2 years’ experience in Environmental Sciences, engineering or related field from an accredited school, including experience or the ability to learn the following: oversee field inspections, construction projects monitoring, field sampling (soils, water), review compliance documents, assist in the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports, assist in the preparation of local, state and federal environment land use permit/applications. Skills should include minimum 1 yr. experience with Civil 3D CADD, Engineering or Environmental related field experience.  Course work in soils, wetland, botany environmental science or GIS software is a plus.

Requirements for the above position include a minimum one year’s experience with AutoCad. Candidates must possess the ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical labor outdoors for extended periods of time in inclement weather conditions. Course work in soils, wetland, botany environmental science or GIS software is a plus. The ability to learn Civil 3D is a plus.

•  Landscape Architect/ Site Planner

Candidates must have at least 2 years’ experience in Landscape Architecture, with the ability to be licensed within 2 years.  Requirements include experience in land development, feasibility studies, community planning/design; site design, landscape design, grading and knowledge of plant materials. A comprehensive understanding of all areas of design, and an understanding of various design methods for residential, commercial and institutional projects is desirable. Candidates should have an understanding and the ability to interpret code, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions.

Requirements for the above position include a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Landscape Architecture (or related field such as architecture or urban planning) and proficiency in relevant software (such as AutoCAD, GIS, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat). Candidates must possess strong communication, presentation and graphics skills and excellent communication skills.
